Background:

Haines Fleet is a long established business which was formerly part of the Fleet Services Company, affiliated to the Joe Duffy Motor Group founded in 1973. The Company was acquired in 2004 by Eugene Haines who was the Managing Director at the time. Haines Fleet is a medium sized company with an ethos of personal and prompt service.

In 2007, Eugene bought new premises in Airside Enterprise Centre, Swords, Co Dublin to facilitate the expansion and forward planning of the business.  This new location has the added advantage of being strategically located for both clients and suppliers. Austerity measures adopted in the early stages of settling into our new premises benefited us greatly with a new cost base moving on into the more volatile times we now all share.

Having recently celebrated our 5th year post MBO we are delighted with having a large and solid base of valued clients some of which have been with us for up to fifteen years. We also rejoice in the many infrastructure road developments across the country which have been completed, to the benefit of us all, with many more already well under way. See attached article.

Chris Lavender-Chairman, Chris has over 25 years experience in the UK vehicle leasing and daily rental industry, including spells at Herondrive, Norfolk Finance and over 18 years as Operations Director of the well respected and privately owned Marshall of Cambridge Group. Chris is Director General Manager of Intermark Auto Leasing in the Russian Federation having joined Intermark in 2010.

Eugene Haines, Managing Director, has long been associated with the motor trade, having worked previously with Ford and BMW for most of his career.

Ian Flood joined the company in 2002 as Fleet Consultant.  Ian comes from a background of customer services and business development.  Ian was appointed Sales Director in 2005. 

What we do?

Our core business is the management of small to medium-sized fleets throughout Ireland some of which while internationally known might only operate a few cars in Ireland.  We also provide quite a broad range of marques.  Since we supply on a country-wide basis, vehicles are sourced locally when possible. Affinity has also played an important role in strengthening our client and supplier relationships. We focus on our own attitude which provides a reliable barometer in our success.

At Haines Fleet we pride ourselves on our ability to offer customers a competitive rate on a car-by-car basis. We recognise that “our last order must always represent our best value.” and possibly be the first of many.

As an independent supplier we do not act as tied agent to any particular financial institution. With the changing times we are happy that this has been very much to the benefit to our clients and ourselves providing a wider scope at an operational. Haines Fleet has developed its own good track record in dealing with the various financial institutions over the years.  We are very conscious of the need to make it easy to place business with us, while also taking the time to qualify the prospects, before we assign them with a financial institution for the lease period.

The sale of ex lease cars with full service pedigree history has opened up new opportunities in recent times with providing exceptional value. Formally it was customary to trade on a large amount of ex lease cars.
